Quality Manager

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The systems and procedures that are directly responsible for the control and efficient performance of all quality monitoring systems. The systems are in place to ensure the quality of the manufactured part from order entry, through shipment of the product to the customer. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for coordinating with Manufacturing Engineering to develop the control parameters for operational inspection procedures to ensure the part is being produced to the control drawing. The Quality Assurance Manager is also responsible for communicating the overall quality that is acceptable to Sisson Engineering Corp. to all employees.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • The Quality Assurance Manager Must be articulate, self-assured, personable, and gregarious. Must be able to get the best from his people without undue pressure. Must possess the ability to guide, direct, and coordinate multiple employees.
  • Must have extensive experience of Quality standards and procedures, (as outlined in the Sisson Engineering Corp. Quality Assurance Manual), and a substantial working knowledge of the tools and equipment to monitor them.
  • Must have a good mathematical aptitude, good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with computer spreadsheet, word processing, and data base software.
  •  
  • Must possess an excellent knowledge of the machining and contract manufacturing business, especially machine and assembly operations and processes as it pertains to Quality Assurance.
  • Must have the ability to read and define blueprints and from them determine the key control characteristics that will be used to effectively monitor the production process. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Must have a strong continuous improvement focus with the ability to coach and mentor others. Lean and or Six Sigma
  • The Quality Assurance Manager must be of the highest order of integrity as they in effect serve as both a representative of Sisson Engineering Corp. and the Customer.
  • The Quality Assurance Manager must be detail oriented as well as having the resolve to maintain goals, objectives, and underlying principles of Sisson Engineering Corp.
  • The Quality Assurance Manager must also be an effective communicator, as the position is required to work closely with all employees, vendors, and customers, to clearly define the intent of the process
  • Must poses strong working knowledge of AS9100 rules and standards

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

A degree in a business, management, manufacturing, or engineering discipline is preferred but directly related experience may be substituted. The Quality Assurance Manager should be willing to pursue additional training to sharpen any skills and to overcome any skill deficiencies.

 

Experience:

A minimum of five years experience in an environment where the maintenance and application of a high integrity Quality Assurance System is in place.

First Shift Tooling Technician:

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Setup tooling for all CNC machines as defined by job packets
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools (micrometer, Vernier calipers, steel rule and tape measure)
  • Knowledge of cutting tools (mill, drill, tap etc.)
  • Ability to oversee tooling inventory and communicate tooling needs to purchasing
  • Ability to research specialized tooling needs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work safely with sharp cutting tools
  • Good math skills with knowledge of decimal and fractional dimensions)
  • The ability to multi task in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Candidate must also possess:

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong Communication (written and oral).

CNC Machinist / Machine Operator First and Second Shift

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Produces machined parts by setting up and operating a CNC Vertical & 5X milling machine.
  • Reading engineering drawings and interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) callouts.
  • Maintaining quality standards by performing and keeping records of inspection.
  • Work closely with the production department for on-going quality control purposes.
  • The ability to multi task in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Work with quality team to verify in process inspections.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Candidate must also possess:

  • Strong work ethic with an excellent teamwork attitude.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong Communication skills (written and oral).
  • Experience using a Material Resource Planner (Epicor, SAP, Oracle) preferred but not required.

Quality Assurance Inspector

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform dimensional inspections of machined parts using hand and CMM inspection tools. Hand tools include vernier calipers, height gages, micrometers and thread gages.
  • Perform and maintain calibration for various inspection equipment.
  • Work closely with the production department for on-going quality control purposes.
  • The ability to multi task in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Work with quality team to maintain AS9100 certification.
  • Interpret engineering drawings/prints and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality standards.
  • Perform other QA duties and tasks as directed by management.

Candidate must also possess:

  • Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong work ethic with an excellent teamwork attitude.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong Communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to interact with the shop floor monitoring job travelers and in-process inspections.
  • Minimum of 3 years of quality control experience and readily able to demonstrate understanding of engineering documentation including blue print reading and GD&T tolerances.
  • ISO or AS9100 experience preferred.
  • Comfortable in making decisions in a rapid paced work environment.
  • Experience using a Material Resource Planner (Epicor, SAP, Oracle) preferred but not required

Second Shift Manager

The role of the second shift manager is to ensure Safety, Quality, Deliver and Cost. In this position you are responsible for Safety, Plan execution, Quality, Mentoring and Managing the second shift, This position reports directly to the Operations Manager

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan execution
  • Coach, guide, and train personnel to ensure continued positive performance.
  • Strong leadership, communications and people skills required
  • Interact with key first shift members to ensure a smooth and efficient transition at shift change
  • Interact with associates in a way that promotes success and inspires creativity
  • Participate in production meetings to ensure plan execution
  • Evaluate direct reports and provide timely feedback that encourages individual growth
  • Oversee facility and ensure a safe working environment at all times during the second shift.
  • Maintain AS/ ISO procedures and requirements and utilize to drive continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as required.

Technical Knowledge:

  • 10+ years in manufacturing/engineering environment preferred.
  • 5+ years in fast paced managerial role.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to production personnel for troubleshooting CNC machining centers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency to learn, navigate and use Business MRP system.
  • Proficient in MS office products, particularly Excel.
  • ISO or AS9100 experience preferred.

 

First Shift General Office Support Person

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Handling of Incoming Calls
  • Maintain filing system
  • Light Accounting Duties
  • Maintaining Spreadsheets
  • Additional duties as required
  • Experience with computers, Excel, and Word a plus.

Candidate must also possess:

  • Strong work ethic with an excellent teamwork attitude.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong Communication (written and oral).

CNC Lathe Programmer/Set-Up Person

Candidate must have at least three years experience setting up and running CNC turning Centers. You must have a working knowledge of CNC programming and CAM experience is preferred.

CNC Mill Programmer/Set-Up Person

Candidate must have at least three years experience setting up and running CNC milling Centers. You must have a working knowledge of CNC programming and CAM experience is preferred.

Prototype Machinist

Candidate must have at least five years of manual machining of precision component parts with the ability to work independently and manufacture components from CAD and paper drawings. CNC experience is preferred.
