Quality Assurance Lead

The Quality Assurance Lead is key role to monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve both the systems and procedures that are directly responsible for the control and efficient performance of all quality monitoring systems. The systems are in place to ensure the quality of the manufactured part from order entry, through shipment of the product to the customer. The Quality Assurance Lead is also responsible for communicating and training the overall quality that is acceptable to Sisson Engineering Corp. to all employees.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • The Quality Assurance Lead Must be articulate, self-assured, personable, and gregarious. Must possess the ability to guide, direct, and coordinate multiple projects and tasks. 

  • Must have extensive experience of Quality standards and procedures, (as outlined in the Sisson Engineering Corp. Quality Assurance Manual), and a substantial working knowledge of the tools and equipment to monitor them. 

  • Must possess an excellent knowledge of the machining and contract manufacturing business, especially machine and assembly operations and processes as it pertains to Quality Assurance.  

  • Must have the ability to read and define blueprints and from them determine the key control characteristics that will be used to effectively monitor the production process. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. 

  • The Quality Assurance Lead must be of the highest order of integrity as they in effect serve as both a representative of Sisson Engineering Corp. and the Customer.

  • The Quality Assurance Lead must be detail oriented as well as having the resolve to maintain goals, objectives, and underlying principles of Sisson Engineering Corp. 

  • Must poses strong working knowledge of AS9100 rules and standards, able to perform internal audits

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform dimensional inspections of machined parts using hand and CMM inspection tools. Hand tools include Vernier calipers, height gages, micrometers and thread gages.
  • Perform and maintain calibration for various inspection equipment.
  • Work closely with the production department for on-going quality control purposes. 
  • The ability to multi task in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Work with quality team to maintain AS9100 certification. 
    • Including but not limited to: execute and close PCAR’s, disposition MRB, perform internal audits, monitor calibration, document management reviews.
  • Interpret engineering drawings/prints and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality standards.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as directed by Operations Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

A degree in a business, management, manufacturing, or engineering discipline is preferred but directly related experience may be substituted. The Quality Assurance Lead should be willing to pursue additional training to sharpen any skills and to overcome any skill deficiencies. 

Experience:

A minimum of five years experience in an environment where the maintenance and application of a high integrity Quality Assurance System is in place. 

Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager is primarily responsible to monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve both the systems and procedures that are directly responsible for the control and efficient performance of all quality monitoring systems. The systems are in place to ensure the quality of the manufactured part from order entry, through shipment of the product to the customer. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for coordinating with Manufacturing Engineering to develop the control parameters for operational inspection procedures to ensure the part is being produced to the control drawing. The Quality Assurance Manager is also responsible for communicating the overall quality that is acceptable to Sisson Engineering Corp. to all employees.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • The Quality Assurance Manager Must be articulate, self-assured, personable, and gregarious. Must be able to get the best from his people without undue pressure. Must possess the ability to guide, direct, and coordinate multiple employees. 

  • Must have extensive experience of Quality standards and procedures, (as outlined in the Sisson Engineering Corp. Quality Assurance Manual), and a substantial working knowledge of the tools and equipment to monitor them. 

  • Must have a good mathematical aptitude, good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with computer spreadsheet, word processing, and data base software. 

  • Must possess an excellent knowledge of the machining and contract manufacturing business, especially machine and assembly operations and processes as it pertains to Quality Assurance.  

  • Must have the ability to read and define blueprints and from them determine the key control characteristics that will be used to effectively monitor the production process. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. 

  • Must be the champion for continuous improvement with the ability to coach and mentor others. Lean and or Six Sigma

  • The Quality Assurance Manager must be of the highest order of integrity as they in effect serve as both a representative of Sisson Engineering Corp. and the Customer.

  • The Quality Assurance Manager must be detail oriented as well as having the resolve to maintain goals, objectives, and underlying principles of Sisson Engineering Corp. 

  • The Quality Assurance Manager must also be an effective communicator, as the position is required to work closely with all employees, vendors, and customers, to clearly define the intent of the process

  • Must poses strong working knowledge of AS9100 rules and standards

  • Must be able to drive process improvement throughout the company

  • Periodically may be needed to help with in process inspections and trouble shooting

  • Have or obtain knowledge of CMMC and be the resident expert with IT

  • This position also has a direct impact on efficiency and OTD
